In the annals of Superpark history Mammoth Mountain, CA holds an esteemed place. From 1999 to 2001 the resort played host to some of the most progressive moments in snowboarding history. Who can forget a shy regular footed prodigy from Jackson Hole, Wyoming throwing 115-foot backside rodeos and rewriting the definition of hungry in the process? Now the jumps he hits are twice that size and the rodeos he chucks are double corked but he still answers to the name Travis Rice. Then there is the Berserker. This 112-foot behemoth was the kicker that made measuring park features a triple digit affair. Kurt Wastell was the rider that tamed the Berserker and sealed his spot in Superpark lore for eternity.Tags: 12, berserker, magazine, mammoth, mountain, of, snowboarder, son, superpark
