I always go first to BargainBoards they have a wide range of gear for a great price

I usually Google what i am looking for to see what is the best price. The House (www.the-house.com) has some good stuff and ideas. Once you know what you may be looking for, then do the Google it.
Some places offer spiffs for a purchase or at least no taxes and free shipping. I just bought my new Skate Banana on-line, because after I talked to the two local shops here about what type of deal they would do they told me nothing. So, I took it to the web. Got it tax free, no shipping, and a free board bag. The shop I got it from is also an "Authorized LibTech Dealer" which means if there is a problem, I get a replacement.
That brings up another point, be careful who you buy from. They may not back the product or they are getting "blems" and re-saleing them. There is no warranty on those items.
Good luck.. I love using the internet to purchase!
Peace,
X
