ha ha depends on what you want to shoot. i expect that you want something that does not require to be plugged in. it also depends on the brand and type of camera you are shooting with. i would say you could do something pro and comes in a kit for a few thousand dollars.

Ha. This is a good one. I have a Cannon Speedlite that I got for like 100 bucks, mounted on some ghetto japanastanian two-channel radio slave that I got for 20 bucks on ebay, taped with electrical tape to my broken tripod. Oh yeah, and I have a couple work lights to light up the landing and the takeoff.

Get some Pocket Wizards & a couple of Sunpak 555 flashes. they are mad powerful & way easy to cart around.
Or if you have some cash, for sure the Elinchrom Rangers...

Elinchrom Rangers are the shit. Not as pricey as Profoto, and much lighter as a bonus. Also add some extra blitz with a few Sunpak's. The newer Pocket wizards are cool because they sins at pretty much any speed.
